November notes: Creativity, Space and the Power of Experimentation in Coaching
Nov 2025
As the year begins to draw to a close, November offers a quieter energy. The world slows. The days shorten. In the space between things between endings and beginnings creativity has room to breathe.
This is the perfect time to loosen the grip of structure, give yourself permission to experiment and let your coaching practice expand in new, more imaginative ways.
Creating space to play:
In a profession so often shaped by structure, outcome and goals, we can forget the value of simply playing with ideas of exploring without needing everything to make perfect sense.
But creativity thrives in space. When we allow ourselves to step back from routine and invite more openness, something shifts. We begin to ask new questions. We try new techniques. We listen to our intuition more deeply.
This isn’t about being perfect, it’s about being willing to explore
Reigniting creativity in your coaching:
This November what would it look like to coach a little differently?
Could you bring in metaphor, movement or creative writing into your sessions?
Might you use art, music or storytelling to help a client unlock something they can’t express with words?
What if you brought more of your own creative self, your humour, your imagination, your sense of wonder into your work?
Creativity doesn’t have to be dramatic. It’s often found in subtle shifts, surprising questions or the way we hold space a little more loosely.
The courage to experiment:
Experimentation requires trust, not just in the tools but in yourself and the process. Not everything will land and that’s okay. Experimentation means letting go of needing it to “work” and focusing instead on what it opens up.
Here are a few ways to invite experimentation into your coaching this month:
Try something new in a session even if it’s small or untested.
Switch up your environment, coach outdoors, in a new room or even without a screen.
Ask a different kind of question one that surprises even you.
Challenge your assumptions about what “should" happen in a session or how success is defined.
Creativity is a way of listening:
At its core, creativity in coaching is about listening deeply not only to the client but to what wants to emerge in the space between you. It’s about being open to what’s not yet formed and having the courage to follow it anyway.
At Full Circle Global, we honour the value of creative exploration for ourselves as coaches and for the clients we serve. As November unfolds, may you find space to breathe, play and rediscover the joy of coaching as a living, evolving practice.
